Yep, this is very frustrating! Last year I went for a cross country trip, mostly on gas, and gave up trying to figure out gas mpg because it was too much trouble trying to top off the tank to the same level at most gas stations. I think the problem is many stations have way more pressure at the nozzle than others, and gas blasting in too fast immediately backs up to shut the thing off. Many stations had so much pressure that I couldn't even control the flow by only holding the handle partially open, as the pressure would immediately go to wide open. I think I need to carry a C-clamp so I can use leverage to squeeze the nozzle open only slightly!

Noticed this at a few stations last summer, and then saw the same at my usual station right after they changed to new nozzles with a thicker rubber collar.

Applying a bit of forward pressure while keeping the nozzle level and evenly inserted, while annoying, allows it to work just fine. If I keep a loose grip and let the nozzle "rest" (like you would when using the "automatic" lever), it's almost certain to shut off.

I have filled the tank of my recently purchased 2021 4xe four times now (three stations) and three of those times I have to babysit the pump because it keeps backing up the spout and clicking off. Incredibly frustrating. One station worked fine, of course, I don't remember which one it was.

It is happening at stations that worked fine on my prior car (also work fine on my F350 but that's diesel, so irrelevant).

Is this common in Jeeps and/or 4xe's?
Perhaps a fiber optic camera view. Does it have a locking gas cap? Maybe someone put something into the fill neck for a joke.
Fiber optic only! Explosive vapors. Or pull the whole filler tube and see what you find.

I was told to depress the dashboard fuel door release a couple of times and not just once to get the door open. No issues after doing this.

Huh? There is no dashboard fuel door release on a Wrangler.

Don't push the pump all the way in. Back it off just a little bit and it'll be fine.
I have the same issues, at a couple of pumps. It happens with different vehicles I drive. Pull the nozzle out a few inches, and it works just fine.
