Hi:

I think I found this link from another forum poster a while back for a battery operated fuel pump that screws on to the gas can's lid.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010GNM6FC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gPJcDb1KK56NV#feature-bullets-btf

I'd like to be able to attach this, or something like it to my Rotopax tank.

  • Does anyone know if this works for a Rotopax? It comes with adapters known to work, according to the manufacturer, with GarageBOSS, Briggs & Stratton, Scepter, No-Spill Can & Midwest Cans. Maybe the Rotopax cap's threading is like one of these brand's cap threadings.
  • If not, has anyone seen something like this for Rotopax?

The Mrs. doesn't want to lift the Rotopax nor if I do it for her, have me place stuff that's come into contact with gasoline back into the rig to stink it up.

Thanks.

How often are you filling your tank from a Rotopax?

Great point. I think I'm also going to reach out to the Rotopax people to see if they can tell me whether their gas cap thread configuration is proprietary or is identical to some other brands.

I guess between the refund and the Briggs commonality it's worth a shot.

As mentioned the product has 3 optional adapters none of which fit. The closest, but by no means leak proof fit (even with Rotopax washers below) came from use of the unit without any of these adapters.

Seeing as I could use the kit for other applications apart from my rotopax tank I decided to keep it and see if I could DIY the following:

A took the adapter the kit comes with, with a cap most unlike any gas cap threading I own (the monster sized adapter) and cut off the top of it (which contains the product's threading), then epoxied this sanded top's bottom to a sanded rotopax cap top. We'll see when the glue dries how that goes in terms of strength and leak tight fit.
