I went on a 500 mile (1,000 mile round trip) trip this weekend, 2022 JL Sport, 2 door with the 3.6 Pentastar with eTorque. Virtually no headwind, all highway, most of the speeds were 70mph or in some cases 60-65mph. I averaged 26.9 mpg. Shocked and impressed! After the first fill up I was pleasantly surprised. Really didnt expect mileage this good.

Nice. ?

Consider confirming the MPG with separate hand calculations. The fuel mileage figure displayed on the center TFT screen is known to be a bit optimistic sometimes.

Yes, all mine were hand calculations. The display was more generous, showing 28.2 mpg

A stock JL can do pretty good in it’s “sweet spot” running down the highway. Once you start modifying anything related to the power train mileage can plummet pretty quickly. Also those with a rather heavy right foot will pay for it every visit to the pump?

Yes, I used cruise control the entire way and was blessed with literally no wind (wind can really reduce my mpg quickly).

I got a couple 26 MPG (checked w/ grade school math) trips in my 22 Sport Altitude (manual), 70 MPH and under. 24 MPG's pushing 80, I was surprised too. My 23 JLUR is closer to 22 on the 65ish highways and 20 closer to 80.

I’m living proof of your last statement…

16-17mpg. Gravity and speed both kill my mileage. I mostly drive on mountain roads (single digits on a sharp uphill), on highways (too fast…) and in city traffic (starting from a full stop is another mileage killer).

So yeah, unfortunately it’s not pretty. But it’s fun!
