Yes I have had Racedeck and Swisstrax. Get “ribbed” Swisstrax. Racedeck is junk. Is expands and buckles as the tiles are not as thick as Swisstrax. If you call them directly you will get a discount. As for the lift we did the Racor lift with Topsy straps we couldn’t be happier it is the most affordable lift without going DIY Got it on Amazon

I had the exact same experience with Racedeck flooring. Had an old Chevelle with a stout big block engine in it. The heat coming off the headers would buckle the flooring. Premium price and subpar product.

Another vote for swisstrax. I have it and love it... have had lots of floor options, and swisstrax will be in all my homes going forward

I need your lift, except I’m over 6’ tall and want to be able to stand under the car/jeep when it’s raised. I want the GTR too. Beautiful.

It’s not an option on a rental place, unless the landlord agrees, but I love the epoxy floor-covering solutions. They’re beautiful, durable, and easier to clean. They’re not removable, of course, but I doubt I’d be packing up the snap-together flooring options and trying to augment/resize for my next home either.

I'm 6'1" and can stand under my cars when the lift is all the way up. In that pic, it's only about halfway. I regularly use my lift to work on my cars, not just storage, so I needed as much flexibility as I could get.

Cool. It doesn’t look like there would be enough space.

We’re going to escape Oregon shortly. The new home will have one of these!

It's just the angle of the pic. The garage is 12' high. GT3RS fits on it no problem at full height. The Jeep I can't all the way up, but with the lift on it, once it's a few inches off the ceiling, standing under it to do an oil change, for example, is not a problem at all.

It's one of the best mods I've done to my house for car stuff. All of my future homes will have one.

Epoxy Floor
I moved my flooring every two to three years in the military, that's what made it great and I bought enough to adjust or fix. It's super easy to install and remove.

This is the best I could do:

By the way. You do not want to do a DIY epoxy floor!
Roger. My plan is to have that done professionally.

I'm getting old, so my enthusiasm for DIY wanes a little every year.

We're shopping for homes now. My wife says what we really want is a "garage with attached house" This thread is a good planning aid. :like:

DIYing the epoxy floor isn't bad if you do it before you move in. When we bought our first house, it was on the top of the list. Easy enough to do, provided you have *everything* out. Literally everything. Usually needs to 'set' for a couple of days, but so worth it.

Second house had it when we moved in, so saved myself the headache.

House-shopping now and have seen a few with these floorings though and if you've got the scratch, that seems to be a much better way to go.

I can see very little of my garage floor, forget about parking a vehicle inside. Too many woodworking tools, benches, and other miscellaneous crap. It would take me a week just to empty it to put a floor down. Am jealous though of clean garages.

I put epoxy down 8 years ago. Still looks new. I do keep cheap thin carpet over it that I replace every few years. Helps eliminate the black tire mark buildup
