My dealer is running a special to get Fuel tires, wheels, and a 2" lift on my Rubicon, which is scheduled to arrive within 2 weeks. I had my heart set on Nitto Ridge Grappers. Does anyone have any experience with the Fuel tires (35x12.5) on a JLUR to give me any insight as to whether or not I should pay extra to stay with Nittos?

Should I also consider 37" or stick with 35?

Ive never seen them on anything but rigs with huge street wheels. Never actually seen a set off-road.

35s or 37s is really just your preference wether you need them for trails or you just like the way they look. You'll likely have to run some extra bumpstop for a 2" lift and 37s. Maybe get the rig first and then decide what your needs are? You can run 35s without a lift with minimal rubbing off-road.

Me personally I'd pay for nittos if that's your other option. Lots of good tires but I've got no experience with fuel tires.

I love nittos, but I'm not partial to them. There are a lot of great tires. Fuel makes a good wheel, I'm sure their tires are great.

I noticed you have the sport. Did you regear for your 35s? If you didn't, stick with 35s.

I had Fuel Gripper MT's on my last rig. Good traction in the mud, sand and rocks, though these tires are really heavy.

I do currently have a 2018 JLU Sport, but got to word yesterday that my new 21 JLUR is ready(ordered 3.22) for pickup today. That's why I am asking for FUEL tire advice. BTW when I ran 35s on the sport I had TOYO open road RTs and they were great on trails but very loud on road. Hoping for a better ride with either NITTPs or FUELs, which I will be deciding on this am when I pick up at 9am.

If you get the chance, could you offer up your initial impression on the Ridge grapplers, at least on the ride/stiffness and the road noise?

Debating which 35's to go with and seriously considering these myself. I've only ever had BFG KO2 All-terrain tires in the past.

Thanks

Happy to soon as I get them. The custom shop is having to order my wheels which will take 5-6 B days, and then we'll have wheels and tires installed. Just a quick note, drove to friends house doing 3m wrap for me on factory 33s and the ride was even smoother\quieter than my wifes 2020 Sahara on stock tires. And I have the prem softtop......

That would be great, thanks!

For the ride to your friend’s house, was that on the factory K02 All terrains, or the optional Wildpeak Mud terrains?

Didn't even look as I knew they were gonna be replaced. Whatever is standard for a Rubicon v6

Most wheels are made in China. Most quality tires sold in the US are made here, including Toyo and Nitto which are Japanese brands.
