My Wrangler is such a pain to fill up with gas. The nozzle kicks off all the time. This happens at multiple gas stations. Even if I just hold the handle and half squeeze I only get about a gallon at a time before it kicks off.

anyone else experience this?

I did on my JK when it was new. Dealer found a factory worker had left a crumpled up piece of paper in the filler tube. That has been my only dealer visit on this Jeep. Hope my JL is this good...

Once in a while it happens but if I pull the nozzle out a bit or squeeze the nozzle at about 75 %and it goes away.... or angle the filler differently by rotating it a bit left or right..... but it hasn't happened for a while now....

I find it does it more in real cold weather....

There are other threads here on this and also the tank not filling to capacity. Some owners have had a part replaced, something to do with the system that manages vapor I believe. Your case sounds egregious, so I would definitely take it in and give Jeep Cares a heads up.

Never happened with the Jeep, but my wife's Durango has this capless flap thing for the fuel tank and nearly every pump hates it. What I do is just rotate the handle 90-180 degrees and it won't prematurely shut down the pump

I've had the same problem, but it is usually a pump or two, that regularly is too sensitive, or pumps gas out very fast, causing the pump shutoff to be tripped.

I had that problem until I figured out that if I turned the pump handle to a certain angle, the flow of gas will run without interuption.

It must be how the filter tube is angled or something.... causing enough back pressure or fuel turbulence at the tip to be setting it off..JMO... no data to back that up...;)

Wife has this issue with her 2018 Jeep GC. We have to rotate the pump 180 degrees, works every time. The only thing that sucks is we live in a town that is Full Service only so the attendants usually don't realize it.

Is your problem repeating at the same pump at the same station, or multiple pumps at multiple stations? The shutoff is often a nozzle issue. One BP station near me was particularly bad on this. I figured it was a specific mechanic who adjusted the station's shutoffs for maximum sensitivity.

once in a blue moon that i will have this issue and thats mostly due to the fast flowing of the gas going into the tank. so i hold the handle at 75%. i fill up at the same station so no issue there.
