Has anyone hard success changing front power outlet to always hot? Want to power aux brake controller with outlet but it shuts off when jeep goes to sleep. I know I could install a separate outlet for the controller but if it was a simple fix I wouldn’t have to rewire anything. Not afraid of that just kinda lazy. LOL. Working on a 2018 jl 2 door.

It could be rewired to use one of the Aux outputs. I'm unaware of any plug-n-play solution for that though.

EDIT: After looking at the wiring diagrams, it looks like you could add a jumper between fuse F43 (the 2nd position for the rear outlet that makes it always hot) and F52.

Vampire drain? Doesn't that mean the panel lamps will be always on?

That outlet may not be set up to do anything more then for lite accessories.
Safest to wire it specifically with its own fuse and/or relay.

Only way I could see to not screw with someone who didn't know my jeep, wire in a second cig lighter power always hot using this:

I let it dangle by drivers side OBD connector, I use it for always on power RVi3 brake. Easy install, used a 1/8th drill punched through driver side firewall plug and some RTV to seal it shut.

Pin 16 on ODB connectors (https://www.flexihub.com/oobd2-pinout/) is always hot.

That said, this might help if power draw isn't too much from your aux brake controller:

Alternatively, if equipped, the cargo plug, by default from Stellantis is also always hot. If yours is not a simple move of its fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) can make it so (link to do so available on request.)

You could access it with this.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CXL1CGB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6

It's not the prettiest solution, but it involves no drilling, and with floor mats in my Sahara the cable is not visible as it travels from the cargo area to the front seat.

Good luck.

ISTR pin 2 being just for the lighted ring around the power outlet, but either way, still would create a dead battery scenario in no time.

Thanks for the wiring diagram, looking at it, if I jump the relay pin 30 to pin 87, would that cause any other issues?
