I think I've found one of the most annoying repairs yet!
So... It's a beautiful weekend in South Florida, so I take my doors off. In the process, I forget to tuck the wires, and I let the door crash into the electrical connector that controls the windows, door lock, etc.
There's only a small plastic piece that's broken, so I think it'll be fine... I'll just force it into place later... WRONG!
As you can see in the photo, the important parts of the connector for the electrical, are still in place, BUT, this overengineered piece of plastic is destroying every strand of patience I have.
I'm hoping someone here has some experience with this or some sort of tips and tricks to force this thing into place so I can roll my window up until I get it replaced.
The issue seems to be the female end. There appears to be something that's preventing the connector to go in, but I can't find any details on how it's constructed.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it!
Also, just FYI, if this happens to you, the whole door wiring has to be replaced. The part is only about $60-$80 but the dealer wants $400 to put it on.
DONT FORGET TO TUCK THE WIRES!
