Front Bumper and Winch Recommendations

I’m looking at get front bumper for my 2020 JL. I’m looking at this Rampage Rock Rage. I had The Rugged Ridge full HD on my old JT and loved it. I had the X-Striker overrider bar on it (love the look) see pic below

For my JL, I’m looking for a similar style but more stubby than full. Let me know if you’ve got one that fits the bill that you love.

Also, on the JT I had the Apex Badlands 12000 winch. I really loved the look of it as well, but I’m thinking it’s a little overkill for this JL. What do you recommend? I saw another thread where most comments recommended 8k for a 2Dr JL. I’ve got a great snatch block from Rhino USA, so I’m wondering if I should go 5k. If I’m recovering with a tree and the snatch block, that should give 10k pulling power, which should be sufficient for the JL stuck in the Florida mud and sand, right? Let me know your thoughts.

I have the RH4x4 mid-width aluminum patriot series. Very happy with mine. I had them delete the bull bar so it didn’t interfere with the trail cam and gave me a nice landing for my Baja Designs LP4s. Also have the optional tow clevis fittings for towing behind my RV.

I like the stubby look, watch your weight…front likes to droop fast with a few pounds. I’m sure that’s why many go Al beyond corrosion concerns. I run 10k, beyond weight of your ride, it’s what you are pulling it through you have to factor. Have fun picking, 100 options out there.

I agree, the fact that the back side angles towards the front does look odd from the side. The only thing I can think of is maybe it gives you more room to install a skid plate. If I remember on my Rugged Ridge bumper, I had to remove the bumper to install the skid plate, but yeah, I’m with you, that side view isn’t great.

Barricade is a cheap Chinese made brand set at a good price point for folks who like the looks but won’t test their build quality. I wouldn’t trust or recommend them for actual use, they ding/bend/dent/scratch/corrode way too easy.

I will recommend what I have, Rival4x4 full width. Only complaint was that I had to wait 2-3months before receiving it.

Hepta MFG stubby. I have since rotated the sway bar and cut the crash bar for more clearance.

Rockhard 4x4 aluminum, I went front and back only 4-6lbs heavier than Rubicon plastic ones good for most off roading except harder rock crawling body damaging trails
