I remember when the JL first came out, purists were upset about the Front Axle Disconnect. I’ve had the front of my Wrangler apart a lot recently chasing death wobble. My axle does NOT have a FAD. I’ve seen what the little motor looks like in pictures and it’s simply not there. Did they remove it from certain models/ option packages. I have 2021 Sport S w the anti spin rear diff. Other than that it’s a pretty basic Sport S.

anyone have any ideas why the FAD is missing (or maybe I’m looking in the wrong place? I thought the FAD was just on the driver side of the front pumpkin)

As I understand its on all JLs, but I may have some got some bad data. However it may only come on certain models.

The purpose is to provide better mpg, my F 450 has it!

The FAD in my '22 Willys (M186) looks identical to this. It's located on the passenger side of the differential. It's my understanding all Wrangler JL's have this. Of course, I could be wrong.

I was looking on the wrong side.....it's on the passenger side behind the axle. I recently replaced my ball joints and had the axle shafts out and I guess I just wasn't paying attention.
