As per the list I have in front of me, this indeed appears to be the right (Mopar) fluid:
Part Number: 68218925AB
Supersession(s): 68157995AA; 68157995AB; 68218925AA; 68339073AA
It is recommended to stick with the proper fluid, as highly sophisticated transmissions like these are very sensitive to the use of the proper fluid.

Also note that the official procedure to replace the fluid is quite extensive - the right oil temp, go through all gears, maintain a given rpm, etc -, and the oil pan bolts to be torqued in a specific order.

Thanks for confirming. Yeah, I heard the same thing about this being very specific. Will need to have a discussion with the dealer to see if they've done these yet.

If in doubt, you are better of going to a dedicated transmission (repair) shop (if available), who should be way more experienced at dealing with/working on after all...

Was thinking along those lines too. These trannys are used in many vehicles and for years before use in the Wrangler so it should be easy to find a shop that knows what they are doing.

Yea this transmission itself is nothing new, just new to the wrangler. It’s not THAT particular, just use the right fluid.
FCA’s official stance seems to be that the tranny never needs service. They are trying to sell you a new one at 150k.
