I have a 4 door Rubicon with the AEV front bumper. I'd like to flat tow it but the eyelit holes are tucked quite low under the bumper.
I'm unsure of a way to hook on these without a conflict with the upper part of the assembly.
I pointed out the holes with a stick in the photos. Thanks for any advice.

I do not think those recovery points are rated for flat towing. Clearance problem solved. Might want to contact AEV.
I've used Maximus-3 tow loops on a previous Gladiator, now using Roadmaster direct connect mounts on my JLUR with a factory steel bumper.

You need a spot for the tow bar and another location for safety chains. I went with a Rockhard 4x4 bumper that included tow spots for my blue ox.

I read elsewhere that those recovery points are rated for 12,000 lbs, but AEV didn't go through the testing validation for flat towing.
I'm sure they are plenty strong. I don't want replace my front bumper as it's expensive and has lights and a winch all mounted. So, problem still exists.

I don't think I can put a base plate on the AEV bumper with lights under the winch.

You’re going to need a baseplate that mates to your tow bar. Either install on existing bumper or replace the bumper with one with tow bar mounts installed. Highly recommend Rockhard Patriot

I got a hold of Bob from Breiter Metal Works at 360-627-1752. He makes a retrofit bracket that is much thicker (1" instead of the standard 1/2" or so) with the eyelet holes in front for easy tow bar access.
I recently received them, and they look awesome, although I haven't mounted them up yet. He's a bit hard to get a hold of (he prefers texting - not really a people person) and I got the impression that it's sort of a side hustle, so I'd leave plenty of time. I can't wait to install them and give 'em a try.
