My brother-in-law tows his 2002 TJ behind his Chevy 1500. I haven’t tried it behind my JLUR, but I think it could, but you sure would feel it, especially in hills.

I say go for it. I towed my YJ on a dolly when they said not to...no ill effects.

My JLURD should be delivered by the first of next month. I plan to drive a 98 XJ to pick it up (12 hour round trip) and flat tow the xj back. I would take my 98 Tj but I need to fix a bad re-gear job before I take it on that long of a trip.
There is virtually no tongue weight so as long as you have a good braking setup I’d say go for it. I’m using a blue ox patriot 3. If you slow down Gradually the brake doesn't really kick on. But I still run it incase the vehicle ever detaches It will eventually come to a stop.
