Need help. I have a boat hitch with plug in lights to brake lights. I am trying to install lights for flat towing my 2021 jeep wrangler jl. I want to use the hopkins 56200. After watching utube not sure i can since i already have a plugin at brake lights. What do folks use to hook up flat tow when you already have hitch lights to brake lights.

Check your part #'s. The 56200 is what I used to wire my previous 2016 JK for flat towing. I do not think it will work for a JL. I believe the 56210 is what you are looking for.
The Hopkins kit for the new JL/JT Jeep was unavailable when I set mine up for flat towing. I am not sure if it is even available yet. I just checked and it is still not available.
I ended up going with the Cooltech LLC flat tow harness. Only 4 easy splices needed by the passenger seat. Air gap isolation switch, no diodes. Works great.
One cable to run from under seat to the front. No wires run from the tail light connectors, so that would be an option for you.

I plan to use this wiring kit:
Curt 58964, Amazon, $67.03
Plug n play with diodes.
From what I have been finding/reading, you will also need to install a stop light switch, to be able to use the braking signal warning from your braking system. The tail light wiring kits isolate the jeep wiring from the towing lights. When the braking system engages, there is no signal from the jeeps brake lights.

was just about to purchase this Curt wiring harness. From what I understand this takes the power from RV and uses it to use the brake, tail, turn lights on your Jeep. Where I get confused is if you use a supplemental braking system to activate the brakes on the Jeep what happens? Does it seamlessly work or is there something you have to do in addition to this kit?

So, the wiring kits lets the rv lighting (running, brake and blinkers) run through to the tail lights on the Jeep. It does not feed back into the Jeeps system.
"Most" supplemental braking systems (the part that actually puts the brakes on) do not take care of the rear lights. The Jeep's brakes are applied and the brake lights come on. The LJ will "go to sleep" after about 5 minutes. After that, the tail lights will NOT activate. With that being said, if you have the LED lighting package, the Jeep will "wake up" any time the brake, blinker or tail lights are activated. This is caused by the extra sensor wire for the LED lights. There are fixes, or you can disconnect the sensor wires. This will cause dead batteries.
If you want a light in the rv to come on and let you know when the brakes are activated, you have to install a separate switch, at the brake pedal, to send a signal.

I used the Curt wiring kit, their brake light switch (I think), and disconnected the sensor wire.
Works flawlessly for me on my 21 JLURD. I also use a Readybrake style braking system that is completely mechanical.

Btw, to clarify above……
The awakening of the JL is what causes dead batteries. The led sensor causes it to wake up. Disconnecting the sensor wire stops the dead batteries.
