If it's fresh and untouched, 4 feet is a piece of cake. You'll plow right through it with a bow wake. The problem only comes when snow is high enough to pile up on the hood and windshield. You can move but you can't see a damn thing.

Speaking from experience.
Fresh beautiful powder like Alta Baldy Ballroom powder maybe, hidden surprises aside. Mashed potato snow would be a showstopper at far less height.

I did that in New Jersey of all places. When it was in a blizzard state of emergency. I figured it can't be all that hard to out run police cars in that amount of snow.

Last winter after a pretty good snow, before they cleared the road, I pulled up to a red light in my wife's AWD SUV next to a DC in a Wrangler with a smug look on his face.

When it changed I really blew him away. He wouldn't even look over at the next light.

Her car won't spin it just goes. It's fasinating really.

It's doubtful Hazel will see any on road snow. Our state slathers the roads with salt. But I might run the rock bsckroads just for fun.
With my Alltrack, there's a way to set it for launch control. With the DSG, you can keep your foot on the brake, floor it and it holds at 3K rpm. Being a DSG, the clutch is not engaged. Slide your foot off the brake and it goes like gangbusters and does it straight. Very little if any steering input in the snow. Problem is, you got to make sure nobody is around because you can build up a head of steam and thus, you will have to slow down.

This was the problem back in the day with the original Audi's with the quattro system. You could manually lock the rear and center diff. Thus they went like gangbusters in the snow but most people crashed them as they forgot, they need to stop.

The Jeep does fine but with a 2 dr and the turbo motor, you can get it sideways pretty easy.

Got my 4 Dr Willy'ls this past July, and today is the first day it there were quick snow accumulations on the way home from work.
I was very impressed with the 4WD auto. Never slipped, and I was driving around stuck cars on hills, some had to be pulled by trucks with straps. It felt like a walk in the park.
Interior was so comfy, heated everything and the heater just kicks ass.
My one gripe is how fast my led headlights became caked in snow. I had read about it, but I've been so happy with how bright they are that I had forgotten. About 20 minutes into the drive, it seemed like my lights were off. If there wasn't a set of tail lights for me to follow, I wouldn't have been able to see. When I found a pullover, I cleared them and all was good, but I can't imagine having to pull over every half hour to do this on a road trip in the snow. Does this only happen with super wet snow, or is this a thing all the time?
Anyway, I absolutely love this Jeep, I'm so glad I got it and to me, it's the ideal summer, winter, and everything in between vehicle.
Glad to hear your enjoying your Jeep. My 4xe High Altitude was ordered 8/5 and I still have not received it, its planned to be built on 12/23. Cant wait to use it in the snow!!!

You are going to love it. I waited almost exactly 4 months, and while it was agonizing, it kinda makes it feel like you earned it! ;)

As stated, AWD is tough to beat for most snow conditions. Wife has a VW Touareg with AWD. It has locked diff’s that can be engaged if you’re stuck (automatically unlock at like 10 mph). It’s an absolute beast in snow. When we lived in snow belt Iran Blizzak’s on it-never, ever, had issues going in the white stuff. Conventional 4 WD works quite well also, esp with limited slip, but requires more “effort” than the ‘Treg.
