I always find it interesting, when in a forum that seems to universally detest socialism, members are also quick to condemn capitalism. All of this pricing strategy, every darn bit, can be attributed to the law of supply and demand. It's the cornerstone of the economic model that our country follows.

$300 increase. My total MSRP is $43985 on the invoice and when you build it now it comes to $44285.
Wow! That must be a pretty nicely optioned Jeep.

the $300 is not too bad, but kind of a poke in the eye. Not enough to prevent me from buying one, but enough to be irritating.

I am going to order mine this weekend. Base sport in high velocity…2 door

Doesn’t take much to run up the price. I ordered the half doors w/o uppers, the optional wheels, trailer pkg, hardtop and a few smaller options and walla! A $43k Jeep. There were a couple more things I wanted but the price was getting out of control considering that I started out telling myself all I wanted was a base sport with rollup windows and a stick!

I understand precisely! I started with the base sport and worked my way up to a loaded Willy’s!

Based on reality and my finances I then worked my way back down to a base sport. I will splurge on a hardtop.

One more footnote. I wanted the Earl gray color but when we tried adding the dual door option it would kick out the order. So we then tried Anvil, same thing, couldn’t order with dual doors. So I settled for white and the order went through and I had a VIN the next day.

My bank offers automotive loan terms of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 years. It's those latter few repayment periods that are putting a lot of folks into vehicles that they arguably can't otherwise afford.

On the day I took delivery of my new JLU, and as I waited for my salesman to gather the necessary forms, I watched as a woman walked up to a salesman and asked if she could be put into a vehicle, any vehicle, that would give her some relief from the monthly $750 payment of the BMW that she drove there and wanted to trade. I hope things worked out for her.
Banks might as well offer those longer term "mortgage" type loans since the price of many "nice" (I'm not talking about luxury vehicles either lol) can get you into some condos or manufactured homes these days ?

Thanks. I am in the present mind set of “take it or leave it. The more I learn about Jeep the more convinced they are trying to fuk every potential customer they can. It’s not a very good business practice.

For the record, dealers are entitled to keep the deposits in Tennessee. I knew that going in before giving them a $1K.
I agree the constant flip flops with builds were a joke, can get an AT with V6 then nope, then only manual try to order manual u can’t then they stopped the 4cyl and u could only order a MT I had enough of that horseshit. I went looking on the lots

In terms of price increases...regardless of what is causing them (strike, market pricing rising in general, part shortage...etc), at some point I believe there has to be a balance. Am I wrong?

Companies like Jeep can't simply price themselves out of the market when there are other companies that they have to compete with.

Student loan repayments are suppose to resume soon, many people are going to start repaying which means they will be a bit more short every month. There are national elections coming up...

Everything has to do with supply and demand but I can't imagine people will continue to pay these prices, the line is somewhere. What does that mean for Jeep? I expect everything will remain the same except that discounts for factory orders will go up. Isn't that how jeep keeps their most loyal customers happy while making a buck off of regular folk?

I think I'm a bit optimistic regarding market prices...within the next 18 months, which is right around the time I will order my first rig. Just hope the manual or two door don't get axed by then.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't have the small bit of optimism I have?

I've heard the same thing. I can live without a manual to be honest. It would be a bummer not to get one.

A two door soft top jeep is what I want.
Manual or automatic I can live with...
If they axed the two door I'd loose a lot of faith.

I also hate the monthly price increases but as the dealer explained, "If you order today the price is locked in." By January the price of new cars will likely keep going up as the value of the dollar declines and with strikes and shortages pushing supply down we buyers will either be forced to buy or sit it out. Also remember with electric cars you will be the owner of some of the last gas powered jeeps. There is where the value lies.

Well I have a 2021 Sahara 6sp, put in a CF2, driving it till she gives up the ghost, which I'm hoping is 200k miles with a lot of love, lets pray she can make it that far and being a basic V6 with 6sp she'll be worth something to someone come 2030 or later...or I just keep fixing her ad nauseum until she's an archaic classic!

I'm not entirely sure that is the case, and my undergrad degree was in Economics. Jeep dealer lots around here are still flooded with unsold 2023s and 2024s are now landing as well. Supply is up, demand is down, yet prices are increasing. It makes no sense. Only logical explanation I've heard is companies trying to meet Wall St expectations for quarterly earnings can't do so if they cut prices. But that can only go on so long.
