Would anyone care to offer an opinion on this tire? I am considering it in 285/70/17 flavor.

they came on my Willys. Different size of course. I like them. They are loud. Took a little bit for them to break in. They were a bit slippery in the rain for the first few hundred miles or so. Dry roads are no problem. Didn’t get a lot of snow last winter, they did do very well in the 5-6” that we did get in one storm.

This is the Second Jeep I’ve had them on and I think the MT2 is a better tire than the MY I had back in 2015. Still a bit noisy, slip a little in the rain.

When I replace them some day down the road, I’ll go with the 285/70-17 in a C Load Range but may go with the Falken Wildpeaks AT3 Or maybe the new BFG KO3’s

I've noticed just by airing down even a little 33/32psi seemed to help on wet slippery roads, especially with MT tires.

Cold air moved in this week causing my tire pressure to drop to 33psi. The softer (not by much) tires felt like I was riding on marshmallows. I ended up bringing them back up to 36psi which is probably a bit too high.

They were OEM tires on my 2022 Willys (different size). Only downside is that they are noisy on the highway like any other large lug MT tire. They perform as expected. I will replace with an AT tire which will satisfy my needs. AND I am old school and like the white outlined letters. Lol!

If I had to drive mine in the Winter around Upstate NY I would consider having someone with great knowledge “sipe” my tires. I am sure it would improve things in that sort of driving. Of course that is also why I am looking for tires that have a 3 Peak rating and may be slightly quieter than the MT’s.

I run the Falken Wildpeaks AT3’s on the Subaru Outback and it totally changed the way that drives in the winter as well as mile off-road. I can’t believe that Subaru keeps using Yoko’s that are just not as good as any Falken off-road tire.

Just my .02

Thanks. I'm looking for more aggressive off road and don't care much about on road, so they'd probably be better than my stock BFG AT KO2.

They are great off road. They really surprised me, even in dry stuff. They will sling some serious debris, be be aware of that. As stated above, they are better aired around 32 PSI. Probably the best wearing and riding mud tires I've had. The ride on and off road is great, they are loud on the highway and get louder as they age. My OEM 32" MT2s have 22k miles on them and still have half or a little more of the tread left.

Would I buy another set? Yes, if mud was a problem for me, but it isn't. The only thing I dislike about them is the noise, and it really isn't that bad as I've had tires that were even louder than these. Better than the KMs I've had before. Never had KM2 or 3s, which look like more of an aggressive AT tire. The loudest MTs I've had were Goodyear MTRs and Yokohama Mud Diggers. These aren't that loud.

They came stock on my Willys and at first I loved them, especially the look. I've taken them through some serious dry/wet trails and found their off-road performance to be very solid. However, they're louder than I can tolerate now that I have 20K miles on them. I recently swapped them out for a set of Mojave take-offs (Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws) and I have to say I will never go back unless I absolutely cannot find someone to buy the destinations off me.

Regarding the AT3Ws - I cannot believe how much more pleasant these tires are (on-road). They're incredibly quiet and seem to be wearing nicely. They are heavier than any tire I've come across though, which is probably a good thing for snow driving in the winter. MPGs went down slightly as the destinations I had were pizza cutters with a tiny contact patch.

Post a pic with those Gladiator take offs, I'm sure some would like to see them.

Here you are sir @The Last Cowboy

Because the Mojave wheels have a slightly less positive offset, and due to the tires themselves being wider than the firestones, the wheels now have a fraction of an inch of poke. They're 33s vs 32s but no rubbing issues with such a small increase. This jeep is riding at stock height otherwise.

Thanks all. Sounds like they'll be a good PNW/wet-side tire for me. I just wish they made a 285/75/17 or 255/85/17.

the Firestone M/T2s that came stock on our Willys were noisy on the road, and the worst tires i ever used on anything wet. they were OK in the dirt when aired well down.
on even a misty day, i'd lose traction on pavement even when pussy-footing the accelerator.
gladly got rid of mine in just over 4000 miles.
