I got a lot of "discarded" parts from other jeeps and made my own jeep the way I wanted.

  • replaced sport bumper with willys take-off.
  • added LED fog lights.
  • replaced stock wheels and tires with rubicon 4xe take-offs.
  • added rock rails from willys take-offs.
  • replaced silver antenna with black.
  • added fuel filler cover.
  • added bestop soft top.
Not the biggest or the best, but I'm very happy with it now, so I think I'm done (we'll see how that goes).

Thought I'd share here, because nobody I know IRL cares, but I'm happy. ?

Did you get a different antenna, or coat yours?
I had a black one in my garage left over from when I accidentally broke an antenna off a few jeeps ago.

I had originally replaced it with a small flexi antenna that was carwash safe, but that was mostly useless.

Noice. How much of a PITA was it to install the Bestop? I have one coming soon for my 2 door.

Pretty big, unfortunately. Took 3 hours to put on. The soft top on my JK took under 5 minutes to put on or remove, and it folded down fully.

I'm sure it will get a bit easier each season, but there are a lot of parts. The instructions are kind of confusing and it seems like every connector needs a different tool.

I don't really like the look of the top always being up, but I really do like how easy it is to flip the front up or down without getting out, and I especially like that the back isn't cluttered up by bars so it's easy to access the back or sides anytime the windows aren't on and there is zero obstruction of your view when driving. Still getting used to it, but I think I like it.

Good luck, I hope your install goes better than mine, and that you enjoy your top!

Those wheels and tires made a massive difference, it looks like a totally different Jeep just from that alone.

Awesome job, your Jeep looks like a ton of fun.

Also I envy you for reaching the end of your to do list, I'm not even close yet and the list just keeps getting longer as time goes on, instead of shorter!

When I took my bestop off last year, I only used the 2 torx bits that came with the Jeep tool kit and one other bit. Leave the roof section over the back seat in one piece and leave the folding arms attached to the fabric top. Makes it a pain to store but a lot easier to put back on.

It’s amazing how much a few changes can make to the look and feel of these things. Looks good.
