Fender flew off during drive

So. Has this happened to anyone else??? Dear daughters fender flew off. Looks like a clip broke and has been rubbing the jeep until last night.... she came home and said she heard a noise while driving, her passenger said "i think your fender flew off" and she said "noooo that doesnt happen"... we went to find it today but it was gone.

We had a front do the same on the freeway after making hard contact with a rock wheeling earlier in the week. Fortunately the wiring and rear clips held it on enough to pull over and remove it. The plastic clips are not great.

Yes, it happened on mine. Best I could figure is: when passengers (in my case from the rear seat) were exiting, they'd put their weight on the fender to assist them getting out. Mine came off while off-roading (son was doing doughnuts in the mud........) and it was run over. I fixed it by putting on Metalcloak tube fenders as it was cheaper to do those than get new factory fenders.

Shouldn't have happened. Stock fenders have the liner attached to them and would have to pull both off or separate them.

Im thinking when we had her jeep wrapped, the installer didnt clip it back on correctly. We've already replaced a front fender that he destroyed..... the wrap has been removed, but its still costing us $.

I was going to ask if the missing fender has been disturbed since it left Toledo.

Yeah. Sounds like something had to be loosened or incorrectly installed to cause that kind of failure. Too bad there's really no way to prove it was person who did the wrap.

Found one at a dealership abt an hour south... already picked it up. Having it installed monday! $139 plus the plastic clips...

Lol i was kinda bummed when she removed the wrap.... but she did add a 2 inch lift to it!
