Fiat did, though, and for the better (for whatever that's worth). They took the disaster that was Jeep after the '07-'08 economic crash and managed to actually improve it, which was pretty impressive considering Fiat was just as much of a shitshow as Chrysler in terms of reliability and quality. They were the reason Jeep canned the old interior of the JK, publicly admitting it was horrendous and that the consumer deserved better. People think a "mid-cycle refresh" is a common thing for the Wrangler. It's not. The JK needed one because it was that bad.Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram has been purchased several times throughout the years. They don't seem to mess with Jeep as it is a cash cow. I wouldn't be concerned.
Of course, not everything Fiat has done has been an improvement. FCA is still pretty much at the bottom of the barrel in those same categories and their dealerships have managed to get worse, especially in service and product training. But if you look at Chrysler's fleet up until the merger, there was absolutely no pride or confidence in a single vehicle they built. None.
I honestly think FCA putting worthless stickers and custom seat embroideries on the JK for appearance packages is what brought new life, attention, and focus to the Wrangler. They obviously have gone overboard and that hasn't changed with the JL, but if Chrysler had somehow managed to survive and continue on its own, I doubt they'd put half the energy into Jeep that FCA has.
