Favorite exterior Jeep cleaning products?

- Surface protection (wax, ceramic, hybrid, other)
- Tire/Wheel Cleaner?
- Soft top Cleaner?
- Soft Top Protectant?
- Detail Spray?
- Quick Wax/Ceramic?
- Finally, what’s your favorite Jeep cleaning hack?

The weather finally hit a balmy 48 degrees here yesterday, so I turned the water back on and gave my Jeep a thorough and proper cleaning (I only hand wash my Jeep so winter cleaning usually just entails keeping the salt off.)

I looked at my supplies and realized I have quite the eclectic cleaning supply collection, which made me curious as to what everyone else is using since I am running low on product.

This is what I have been using:
- Griot's Garage Car Wash
- Dealer applied Ceramic Coating

- Adams Tire and Wheel cleaner
- 303 Soft Top Cleaner
- Bestop Soft-Top Protectant

- Adam's Graphene Boost (Just purchased, haven’t used yet)
- Adam’s Graphene Detail Spray (Just purchased, haven’t used yet)

Jeep cleaning hack:
I recently read that putting wax over a ceramic coating actually inhibits the coatings ability to protect the paint and draws in dirt and grime. So I have taken waxing the Jeep out of my cleaning process and recently purchased some ceramic boosters to use instead.

I use Turtle Wax Flex with Graphene. Contact angle and sheeting every bit as good as Professional Ceramic on my other auto. It doesn't last as long as multicoat Ceramic, but you can use it as a drying agent and holds up amazingly well.

I've been using 3M Car Wash Soap which has recently been discontinued and I'm currently looking around for an alternative. 3M is always listed as the #1 car wash for wraps. Not sure what I'll do when my current bottle runs out. ?

I’ll take a look. I am trying to get a better handle on how to care and maintain the paint with the ceramic coat.

I used a little of the Adams graphene booster today and ran into an issue where it kept making the fibers from the microfiber cloth I was using come off and stick to the paint. Took a while to get it off.

I’ve always been curious about that, it doesn’t leave any residue behind?

Yellow micro fibers from Home Depot or Costco. The Kirkland ones are really nice

303 Aerospace Protectant for rubber seals and plastic

Turtle Wax ceramic detail spray, also Lucas detail spray

Filter or distilled water in a spray bottle and a clean micro fiber for glass. For real dirty exterior glass, I have a spray bottle of filtered water with about 4 drops of Dawn in it. I also use that to find leaks in tires. :like:

Nothing special for washing, wipe down with a well wrung out micro fiber afterward

Nothing on the tires. If they are real dirty I will spray them with undiluted Simple Green and scrub them before I wash it. I don't put dressing on them, I hate shiny, greasy tires

My well water is so hard that I have to drive into town and use a wand car wash, if not that a touchless one. I finish cleaning when I get home. It got washed for the first time in months yesterday.

I wash it 2-3 times a year. The rest of the time I dust it with a California Car Duster, or wipe it down with a damp micro fiber, wringing it out with clean water each time the rag gets dirty. I don't use soap when I do that.

It's usually not too clean, but when I get around to it, I clean it well.

Seems like I've tried a million different automotive cleaners, waxes, treatments, etc and while most were fine, there's very few that I really like enough to keep using.

#1 would be Simple Green. I use that shit for cleaning everything. Grime and powder from guns, brake dust from wheels, tar/sap, dried bug guts and exhaust soot on the paint.

I've also been fairly impressed with Meguiar's ScratchX for light scuffs and scratches. It isn't perfect for every scratch, but does wonders on many of them. And while I've been disappointed with most of Armor All's interior cleaning wipes, their orange ones work pretty well on dashboards.

Have recently been using Turtle Wax Hybrid ceramic coat spray and so far so good with that one. Goes on really easy, mostly buffs/wipes out pretty well and seems to hold up nicely so far. 2 coats is supposed to last up to a year and it seems to work on unpainted surfaces as well (black plastic trim, leather seats, dashboard, etc).

For my car washing routine I have gyeon synchro ceramic coat I applied last summer, when washing iff really bad or about once I mouth I hit it with gyeon restart in a foam cannon without pretending, then I’ll do gyeon foam in a different foam cannon they I alternate with each wash either gyeon bathe+ or gyeon wet coat I do a good rinse between each product then after last rinse I dry with a leaf blower with a short nozzle then wipe any left water with a microfiber towel.

Actually, wait, don’t use this on your Jeep… It only works on Broncos. ?

Going to have to check out turtle wax, second and third time it’s popped up.

Otherwise, appreciate all the good tips from both of you!

Nothing better than having an atmospheric river do a deep clean, the Jeep has enjoyed over 8” of cleansing rain in the past 24 hours. It looks beautiful with the mud gone.
