OK...I guess I get it,but what does it really matter? I de-badged my Willys because I only identify as driving a Jeep, and who the hell doesn't recognize that?. It's a fricking vehicle, and doesn't define me. Nothing wrong with pride in what you drive, but really? Why separate what could be united?

By fake hood you mean the non-functional decorative vents?
I remember swapping the cosmetic hood vents on my Challenger RT with the functional ram air vents.…thought that was cool, and was a cheap functional upgrade.

The Rubicon look nice though….

I always thought they looked cool but when I realized that they were closed plastic inserts with no functionality, they look a lot less so.

To put it bluntly, who cares? I see women at the gym all the time who are trying to pass off “after-market mods” for OEM equipment. Anyone who is the know knows what is fake and what is real ….

No different then Mercedes or BMW drivers slapping AMG or M letters on their cars.
I'm guessing I had a few stick up their nose at me because I had Mecedes hub caps on my Ford Taurus.

But I didn't do it to pretend I was driving a Mercedes; the stupid Ford hubcaps kept falling off so I found an set of hubcaps that wouldn't come off everytime I hit a bad pothole.

And those stupid Ford hupcaps were super expensive to replace. They acutally looked better then the Mercedes caps but I couldn't afford to keep replacing them.
