Hi, how do I know if I have a factory rake (it looks level to my eyes, more or less)? I have heard that some JLs are level and that most have the front end slightly lower than the rear? I measured from floor to the bottom of the flare but the measurements are off from front to rear. Is there a proper way to measure or to get the answer of Rake or Not Rake?

You know you have a rake by looking at it. If you don't see it, you don't have it, unless of course you want to know in millimeters or fractions of an inch, which is irrelevant.

Thanks for the reply! Is it safe to just Google some images to get an idea since I don't know for sure how it should look? I ask because I might do a spacer kit and the one I am looking at has 2" in the front and 1.5" in the back. If there isn't a rake, there will be one after this and I don't want this. If there is no rake, I would then get an equal number for both front and rear. Would rather know before taking things apart.

There’s less noticeable rake with plastic bumpers from what I have seen. Once you start throwing on aftermarket bumpers and winches you can definitely tell.

You can measure whatever you want, as long as you measure the same thing on each corner.

I personally prefer ground to the bottom edge of the fender flair, as that's the visual cue that I would use anyways.

My '21 Sahara Altitude came with no rake from the factory. As I see you have a Sahara, it's likely the same. I did the Teraflex 1.5" spacer kit and had to add the 0.5" spacers to the rear in order to flatten things out.

Thanks for the reminder about the Teraflex. I have been trying to research the endless possibilities ....just to lift around 1" to 2" so my 33" tires don't start looking puny! In a perfect world, I would put on a proper suspension lift and get 35" tires and call it a day!
