Hello

which brand has the best adhesion and permanent glue for fabric ? Carpet ? Fabric to fabric. Etc
I have been trying to incorporate the Mopar
Head liners together with the converting topliner I want to test if it will provide additional sound insulation
It will be attached with Velcro

I have had good results with the Permatex spray-on headliner glue you get at Advance Auto Parts and elsewhere. Right now, I'm trying out the Gorilla spray glue for another project and it seems to work well too. Between the two, I think I like the Permatex a little more because it's somewhat thicker, but I can also see how a thinner glue might be desirable for certain applications.

thanks for the reply, ive used 3M pro grade and permatex, the velcro backing starts to sag and fall after about a week or so ... im going to try a fabric store if there are any left , and shoe repair, it looks nice and clean when those are attached to the headliners , it completes it, i just thought of something while writing this, small magnets with hot glue maybe, i dont want to destroy the headliner material/carpet .... ill test it on a piece of carpet

Curious to see how it looks when you’re done and if you notice any additional sound improvements.

I’ve got the coverking top liner installed with some butyl sound deadening underneath. I’m pleased with the outcome. I choose coverking for the full coverage, but hadn’t considered layering another product.

to me it made a bit of a difference in sound deadening, when i had them on there with the Velcro, it was summer time and it kept falling off, so im looking into using small magnets , glued/attached to the covering topliner

I've been impressed with the strength of these magnets. I use them to hold in position a [loaded] magazine rack in the safe. They can be purchased in multiple quantities. Just a suggestion.

, yes, i have those at home, issue is for the magnets to stick to carpet headliner, I thought of cutting a small slice and insert it between the headliner and the freedom top, but I really don't like to cut into a new headliner , and i don't think hot glue will do the trick

When I build speaker enclosures, wrap a-pillars and headliners, I use DAP Weldwood HHR. Typically you can find it from upholstery shops if you don't want to order it in. I use a cheap HF paint sprayer to apply it to both pieces and stick it together.
