You can't have both muffler delete no drone.

The young folk like a lot of noise. I was almost drawn and quartered in another thread when I suggested to get a quiet exhaust installed at a muffler shop.
Right, I was totally expecting drone from this. I usually have a pretty good drone tolerance being I’m only 21, but I feel bad for my dog in the back when I’m going up a steep highway grade. I thought I could get around the drone with the 8spd but it’s annoying having to switch it to manual mode every time I climb a hill.

I will tell you another option is to have an exhaust cutout installed. We used to do that when I was your age and it gives the best of both worlds. You can wire it into one of your uplifter switches.

Just make sure of your flange size before purchasing.

I've been happy with my Hooker Blackheart cat-back. It's a bit louder than stock but not obnoxious. No drone.

Honestly, this thing is great. Is it the same one the OP has?

It’s a little loud when you get on it but you can have conversations with passengers (or phone) on the Highway. I have a soft top and some other mods that increase noise a bit but it really isn’t noticeable unless I’m pushing it hard on a trail.

It also tucks away nicely. I was beating up the stock muffler every time I went wheeling. Hope that helps!

I like my magnaflow. Search this forum for lots of info. AWE will not work if you plan on lifting. It interferes with the track bar relocation brackets. Well made but louder and will drone ( worst mod I made and sitting in my garage).
My AWE trail edition works w a Teraflex 3.5" lift, but agree on the drone. I'm on the fence about replacing. I followed the Magnoflow link and their overland edition looks interesting, but shows as JK only. Is that correct or just not updated?

I purchased the Tread… it will NOT work. I can’t speak to the Trail. I will say I’m far happier with the magnaflow. AWE needs to tell folks about the interference issues on the Tread edition. I cant even find a Mall crawler interested in buying the AWE…Lol

I have found, with the 3.6, one is best off staying with the factory installed exhaust. 2.0, I have no experience.

Gotcha....the Trail is much louder than the Tread, so you can imagine the volume/drone...

It’s got to be horrendous…… the magnaflow is just a bit louder than stock but not by much. Mine tucks up nicely in the cavity.

Hey all, I currently have a little slip on high clearance muffler delete on my Jl and I’m loving the tone it gives the Jeep. Though I am having an issue, on road trips when I’m climbing hills the drone sucks. Anyone have any good recommendations on off-road oriented exhausts that will knock down the drone a bit?
Try this works for me for nearly 4 years

I have the Corsair cat-back, with under 500 miles so far. It is louder than I expected and honestly a little louder than I was go for. That being said, it has no drone at 75 mph w/ an 8 speed automatic and 35" tires. I really like it so far and I'm very interested to see what it mellows out to.
