I noticed a wet spot on my garage floor in the area by the left rear wheel in the muffler area. After examination, I located the source was where the over the axle section of the exhaust entered the muffler joint. Close observation showed that the robotic welder had missed a section which created a leak and exhaust and condensate was leaking through the open joint. This would be covered under warranty and the exhaust system would be replaced. I was able to fix this in less then five minutes with a MIG welder which sealed the leaky joint and all is well. I understand that things happen during manufacturing but this is a defect that was visible.
I was going to use this as an excuse to replace my cat back exhaust with a climber exhaust system which would eliminate the over the axle deformed section and large muffler but this was a no cost fix, for now. I did not expect this on my 2022 Jeep JL Willys 2 door.
