I think I have been confused about the 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo system. I thought all of them were eTorque systems, but I am realizing that the eTorque may just be an option for the Sahara.

In my search for an in stock Rubicon I have found a few 2.0L packages, which I had overlooked previously while focusing on the 3.6L equipped vehicles.

If you choose a Rubicon or Rubicon Recon with the 2.0L engine does FCA omit the belt start generator and the 48vDC system?

I find myself interested in having the 4 cylinder and the turbo under the hood, but want to admire the 48v technology from a distance.

Thank you.

I think it’s still the case that the only 2020 Rubicon that has eTorque is the Recon and it does have the 48v battery and BSG. This is the only engine choice with the Recon.

FWIW, the BSG is the best start stop I’ve had. It’s super smooth and quick to restart.

For 2018-19 all JL 2.0 engines came equipped with eTorque and the 48V system, regardless of trim.

For 2020 only Sahara and the Recon package get the 2.0 with the eTorque/48V system. All other trims get the 2.0 without it.

I am glad to hear that, I want to order a 2021 Rubicon automatic and still want the 8.4" display, for whatever reason the only engine you can with that combo is the E Torque V6. Not my first choice only because I fear the system complexity and reliability with off roading.

It appears for 2021 you can no longer order that combo (with the automatic)
on the Jeep website build utility
