I have a manual transmission just for clarity. I normally turn the ESS off. However I have been pretty sure some of the times when I forget it will shut off when rolling to a stop without a pedal being pressed and I know for a fact I can let off the brake and have no feet on any pedals. I forgot to turn it off today it happened. Traffic was unusually crappy so I decided to check for sure. The next time I tried it actually shut off with the speedo showing 1 mph and in was still moving. The next time I was able to test it shut off when I came to a stop. Both feet on the floor of course it starts up when I press the clutch.

I'm not complaining or looking for a solution because I don't really care for the feature and usually turn it off. It just seems odd if this is how it is supposed to operate and I am just curious if all the manuals operate like this.

That’s how mine operates, I’f you are rolling to a stop in neutral it typically shuts off around 2-3 mph. I find it extremely seamless with the manual trans. The second you blip the clutch it fires up. I was actually really surprised because the ESS on my fleet Ford Escape sucked
