Not touching mine. That flash will end up breaking five other things that will take years to figure out. I'll just keep pushing the ESS button right after I push the start/stop button.Ok, here we go. Will the reversal of many EPA regulations finally kill the mandatory ESS, and if so will dealerships be able to turn off the ESS function?
Ready, GO!
I’m guessing anyone bothered by it has already bought one of several products to deal with it. The pendulum on many things that ARE mandated generally swings back and forth every 4 to 8 years and inertia seems to apply here as well.ESS was never a mandate so any changes happening arent going to likely bring auto makers to change past vehicles over it.
Right like the 4xe update…kidding mostlyThey can easily update the existing software to remember the last selection, and hold it there, that ain't rocket science.
for a hefty feeThey can easily update the existing software to remember the last selection, and hold it there, that ain't rocket science.
Jeep updated the 4xe software to remember the Electric mode selection, and lock it in.Right like the 4xe update…kidding mostly
Maybe they’ll drop the crappy Aux battery.Jeep updated the 4xe software to remember the Electric mode selection, and lock it in.
Previously we had to always select it, kinda like pressing the ESS button every time.
Pressing the electric mode button was a lot more annoying, than the ESS off.
The only way it gets removed is if it saves the auto manufacturers money. Anyone that is seriously going to buy a Wrangler isnt going to be dissuaded by ESS no matter how much they rant about it online.ESS was never a mandate, but manufacturers were still incentivised to include that technology in their vehicles. The problem is there's likely not going to be a requirement or even incentive to actually change that feature, so the odds of manufacturers now spending money to change or remove ESS is petty low as well. The only way it gets removed or changed is if the market decides that for them.
