July 22nd 2023, I dropped my Jeep off at the dealer to address bubbling paint on the hinges.
There were no electrical problems when I dropped the Jeep off at the dealer.

In August when I went to pick up the Jeep it was dead and wouldn't start after initial bodywork. Around August 30th, 2023, the Service Rep called and said I need 2 new batteries. Both batteries were replaced. (I paid $400 for new main battery which I installed, auxiliary battery was NC from dealer) Jeep still dies overnight.

I brought the Jeep into the dealer January 20th 2023. The Service Rep said it would be (Approx.) $400 to diagnose. February 1st, 2024 the Service Rep called and said there is a short but that they didn't find it yet and need to charge me more money to continue searching ($1200)

In my opinion my Jeep was wrongfully diagnosed in August and now I am being asked to pay more for additional diagnostics. In addition, the electrical problem surfaced only after being left in their possession for the period of getting the bodywork done.
So far I'm into the electrical repair for $800 and the dealer is asking for more money.

Once again, there were no electrical issues before I brought the Jeep in for bodywork.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do? I'm really not happy with my money being spent for "Trial and Error" work.

Thanks,
Mike

They probably removed the doors for the hinge work and bent some pins when reinstalling the door harness.

I was thinking the same thing. That should have been one of the first places they look for the short knowing that the doors were removed.

I don't see how bent pins would cause a battery drain If you have a bent pin you would have an issue where something wouldn't work Are your windows mirrors blind spot power locks and speaker working?

I agree spending money to chase a problem is wrong ..... my first thoughts are have to added anything to the jeep stereo? Lights? Tazer?

I've read here in the forums various things that caused battery draw. Including one I thought was odd Some type of transmission sleeve. I hope they figure it out without emptying your wallet

There was another thread asking about this. Should they take it back to the dealer to get the hinges repainted? I suggested NO! dealers cause more damage than they fix. Hope you get it sorted out

I haven't added anything new lately. Only aftermarket electronics are 2 spotlights in the back, a dashcam and a Viper Smartstart security system. These have all been installed and working fine for years.
