July 22nd 2023, I dropped my Jeep off at the dealer to address bubbling paint on the hinges.
There were no electrical problems when I dropped the Jeep off at the dealer.
In August when I went to pick up the Jeep it was dead and wouldn't start after initial bodywork. Around August 30th, 2023, the Service Rep called and said I need 2 new batteries. Both batteries were replaced. (I paid $400 for new main battery which I installed, auxiliary battery was NC from dealer) Jeep still dies overnight.
I brought the Jeep into the dealer January 20th 2023. The Service Rep said it would be (Approx.) $400 to diagnose. February 1st, 2024 the Service Rep called and said there is a short but that they didn't find it yet and need to charge me more money to continue searching ($1200)
In my opinion my Jeep was wrongfully diagnosed in August and now I am being asked to pay more for additional diagnostics. In addition, the electrical problem surfaced only after being left in their possession for the period of getting the bodywork done.
So far I'm into the electrical repair for $800 and the dealer is asking for more money.
Once again, there were no electrical issues before I brought the Jeep in for bodywork.
Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do? I'm really not happy with my money being spent for "Trial and Error" work.
Thanks,
Mike
