I have a friend looking into this for offroad use only😏
My question is if anyone has experience with tunes. My friend is looking at the exhaust and econo tune. What performance and MPG differences have first hand users experienced with the different tunes?

Performance gains will definitely be noticed with the 50 hp tune. It still doesn't have the low end torque my Cummins and BLW diesels has, but it is close. Expect to add an additional 1-2 mpg to your average although that mainly depends on your right foot and how much it enjoys the added power.

I have the trans tune, but I find that the shifting still sucks. I would love to find the person who tunes transmissions at Jeep and kick them in the nuts. They did a horrible job and it feels like they just slapped the gas trans tune onto the diesel without taking advantage of the diesel's low end torque. Mt BMW diesel has the same transmission and it's shift tuning is flawless.

Thanks for the input. My friend is probably going to do the stage 2 with 30hp and a Banks pedal monster

Also, is there any way you can remove the reference of the vendor in your original post? We all know who you are talking about and I would rather not have this post be the way the EPA finds out about them. The Cummins forum is how they found out about a lot of the Cummins vendors. They even had screen shots of forum posts in their indictments.

How was your experience with shipping your ECU and about how long did it take?

I am probably not a good person to ask on that. I bought a spare ECU with the stock file so I can return everything back to stock if needed. So, I snail mailed mine up to him and back. I believe it took a week for me to send and get back, but again, I purposely told him no rush since I didn't need it to be.

Did you clone your ECU yourself?

Where did you find the spare ECU? I'm looking for a friend who's wanting to put his on a diet.

I haven’t gotten one yet. There are plenty of sites online that you can order, I’ve seen them for around $200.
