Hoping to find an easier way to remove the doors on my 2 dr. Willys. Potentially something that doesn't require tools every time. Is there anything out there that makes this process easier for removal and reinstallation of the doors? Thanks!

You can leave the black hinge bolts out all the time - that's your biggest time saver. I've had mine off for a couple of years.

Now all you'll need to do each time is unplug the harness, remove the door check bolt, and lift the door off.

I don't see how removing the doors is difficult? You remove 2 outside, 1 inside, unplug the wires, and lift it off. A lot of people leave the outside bolts off. I'm not a fan of that. I feel like in the event of some kind of accident the doors have a bigger chance of coming off potentially causing me injury. It literally takes me a minute to remove both of them.

Hello,
I believe the only concern with leaving the bottom hinge bolts out is the risk of getting dirt/grit into the hinge. I use lithium grease on the hinge post each time I put them back in and when I take them off, I use a small wire brush to clean the hinge each time.

This is the way! I would lose my mind if I had to deal with those 8 external bolts every single time.

I don’t put the hinge bolts back in unless I will be driving faster than 50.
i have manual locks and manual windows so I don’t bother to plug and unplug the wiring harness. I just leave it unplugged, tuck it back in and snap the cover.

takes me about three minutes per door

The only reason the bolts are on the hinges is for theft prevention. This was a big problem in the days when full doors were a pricey option, and most Wranglers had half doors. Nowadays, half doors are more likely to be stolen. No one here that I know of, has reported a door theft. So no real reason to put those hinge bolts back on.

I haven't used them yet, but the
S1D 8507 Squirrelly Jeep Quick Connect Door Bracket Assembly (4pk) for Jeep from Modern Automotive Performance on eBay seem like a good addon for faster door removal.
