There is literally a guy in here who runs E85 and has a tune for it. The JL is apparently plumbed for E85 because a couple of the markets outside of NA use it more. Get some normal gas in there and run it through. You should be fine.

Definitely don't tell the dealership you filled it with that though. They will use that to void the warranty on anything they want.

I have the Livernois Motorsports tune kit and have run E85 extensively when the price delta was over $1/gallon here in Colorado, and E85 is widely available on the Front Range all the way to Frisco at K&Gs. Plus, the tune was specifically tailored to get the maximum power from E85 on the 3.6. Not a cheap kit, but their tune made a world of difference in the handling of my 3.6. Additionally, I have a portable modder so I can change the tune at any fillup.

What's really interesting is there must be an ethanol sensor already on our motors, because the Livernois box will actually give me an estimate of ethanol content as I'm running the motor. I did not add any additional sensors with their kit.

I live at 7,000' MSL, and routinely drive over mountain passes well over 10,000' MSL. The 3.6 will never produce rated horsepower at those altitudes, and short of dropping in a new motor the performance tunes make up for a bit of the power loss. You do take a massive hit in MPG with E85, so I get electric-car-type range anxiety when running it. I keep it mostly to when I'm just commuting or day runs up to Denver. In general, though, I find my JL runs best on 91 with the 91 tune loaded into the PCM.

I wouldn't panic or wail about having run a tank or two of E85 in a Jeep without proper tuning. But if you are interested in maximizing the power for any grade of fuel and want to do it dynamically, I can't recommend the Livernois tuner strongly enough. It's not magic, but it does make a difference when you're in more extreme parts of the operating envelope.

I decided to try a tank of E85 in my 2022 JL HA yesterday and discovered immediate results. Within 5 miles discovered the power loss, shifting issues, and now the CEL is on and start/stop is unavailable. My shift points are all over the place, and it doesn't want to shift out of 6th gear at highway speeds. Fuel economy is down almost 25%. Has anyone had these issues before and if so what's the correction method? Dealer said they'll run codes but are a month away from service appointments. Will this correct itself after using the fuel and running back on 87 or 89? TIA
WTF would posses you to do this?
