It’s been a little more than a year since taking delivery. It’s about time to document my build albeit a bit in retrospect. Please bear with me as I post the journey over the next few days.

Day one…. Picking up my 22 JLR (2dr) on March 19, 2022. Ordered at my local dealer mid December 2021. Yep, she looks a little slimy… i guess it is the tire treatment. Went in sold on another shade of gray and in this case it was going to be black. All of my vehicles for the past 25 years have been some sort of silver, gray, black. My salesman said you might want to take a look at Snazzberry Pearl… okay show me! None on the lot… apparently a limited offering. So… hell why not sight unseen.

On the way home we stopped at Costco and got ducked! Didn’t know what the hell that was all about?

Got her home…. never spent this amount of coin on anything other than a house! Over $50K!

Little did I know this was just the start of something I had no idea was inevitable.. The simple plan was to tow this little guy behind our Class C RV for trips throughout the west. Oops!

Snazberry was a 4xe. It was a problem child now have a 23 non4xe so much better

Made a hanger bracket so I can store my doors up off the floor and on the wall...

Added rear lower control arm skid brackets. These were gifted by fellow forum member. I did some grinding, grit blasting, and painted them up.

Another of my 'red exterior delete' mods. Red hook already gone. Today I replaced the red reflectors with Oracle LEDs in the rear bumper. Ended up being a bigger job than anticipated as I ended up removing the bumper completely to get at two little screws retaining the reflectors.

Still need to wire them up to either the reverse lights or maybe an Aux switch and make them 'Back Off' lights instead of 'Back Up' lights.

With top and doors off, finally completed the installation of BlackVue DR900X front and rear cams. Removing the top made the wire routing much easier. I mounted the rear cam to the sound bar instead of the rear window to make going topless simple. Couldn't come up with a clean way to disconnect the wiring otherwise. Rear view is compromised a bit but not bad.

Now that I am going topless and doorless more, I purchased some 'Rain Gear'. No room in the garage and now I cover her up for short rain spells.

As a result of the wheel/tire mod, I got more poke. I like the looks, the wider stance for stability but decided to go ahead and add the XR fender flare extension….

Awesome setup. What are your icon wheel specs?

Upgraded the OEM speakers in the dash and overhead sound bar with Kenwood KFC-X3C. Cleaned up the mid/high range significantly…

Simple drop in. No cutting.

Yep, grills snap on like OEM. No worries. But now come to thinking, there may have been a wire adapter needed to make it truly plug and play vs. putting on connectors. Could be mistaken but no big deal… might be confusing with another install. Please check that out. I will try to go back and check as well. Travelling so I don’t have access to exactly what I did.

I guess I better update my build thread… falling behind.

Oracle flush mounts swapped out from red to smoke to further purge exterior clashing red.

Added an Element 50 extinguisher next to my emergency mini OLight flashlight. Both accessible from inside or outside the driver door.
