DOT compliant Headlights

2020 JLU Willys Sport with OEM halogen headlights. I would like your recommendations on a brighter headlight that is also DOT compliant. Should I swap out the OEM halogen bulbs for a brighter bulb and, if so, which one? Or, should I bite the bullet and buy the MOPAR OEM LED headlights?

Just my 2 cents, but there's a bunch of people selling the OEM LED headlights on this forum. I think that's a good way to upgrade and not cost a fortune. However, there are a ton of aftermarket options (Oracle, KC, Morimoto, DV8, Diode Dynamics) that have more customization options than the OEM LEDs, it just depends on how much you want to spend.

Remember, Black Friday sales will save you a ton if you're looking to score a good deal.

There are quite a few that make the claim of DOT compliance. What I looked for was headlights that had adjusters that you could get to without pulling the grill or air intake, etc. The factory adjusters for vertical adjustment are right where you can access them by just opening the hood. At the time I was looking a couple years ago, only the factory OEM lights had that.

But you might have a higher criteria for de-icing. JW Speaker, Oculus and maybe Trucklite have that feature.

I have been told by a reliable source that you can not just retrofit OEM LED headlights in a non-LED Jeep due to a different wiring harness. I believe that you are limited to aftermarket options.

This is incorrect. Many people here have installed them.
