Door Warping

Hi Everyone...

I know this is a common issue, but I have warps in my front doors that are really bugging me. I have 2 friends with newer jeeps and they have it as well but to a lesser degree (at least it looks that way - their jeeps a re white and grey),

I searched and did not see anything from members that had this issue and if the dealer sorted it out or is there is an underlying cause I can fix myself.

have a look at the pics but sure you have all seen this a million times.

Thanks in advance and let me know if there is anything I can do or just have to live with it.

All my TJ/JK/JLs have had minor warping but my newest JL has the same ugly warp at the driver door lower hinge as yours. Drove me nuts for a couple of weeks but I decided early on to leave it alone. Given the corrosion related issues in JLs, it didn’t seem worthwhile to have a dealer mess with anything around hinges.

Removing the inside door panel and seeing if the main pressure point on the sheet metal along the rear edge of the hinge can be coaxed out a tiny bit is something I might try once we are done with winter.

Good point GSS, I have diminished faith in dealer service over the years and now do most all maintenance myself so I know it's been done right. Since corrosion is an issue and could show its head down the road - they can fix it then...

I was hoping that it was something simple like readjust the hinge, or use a suction cup to pull it out a bit, but did not want to go down that Rabbit hole unless someone else had done it and was successful.

Good news is that when it's muddy, you can't see the warp at all !

Grab a toilet plunger and manipulate the warp until you can live with it...

My 2023 JT has it too. Both front doors lower hinge. Since it seems to be "normal" and not an actual dent I've ignored it but one day I might bring it to a paintless dent removal place and have them take a look at it.

every single jl has that that I have seen. I remember in 2018 comparing my JKUR to new JLUR and that was the first thing I noticed.. my 2024 has it and I don't even see/notice it now. I am sure some colors show it worse than others..silver not too bad but it is still there.

I didn’t notice any waviness on my ‘25 doors but soon enough they’ll be off and it won’t matter.

It's a Jeep with big flat doors. What do you think is going to happen? Physics, metallurgy... Get over it or buy something else!

It’s 100% normal and would be counter to your health to worry about it any further.

My JL is the same color as yours, and I’ve always noticed the warpage. When it got really cold here a couple weeks ago it made it look even worse lol. It does bug me to a certain degree, but seeing how every single one I see around here looks the same, I don’t feel quite as bad Like they say… It’s a Jeep Thing…
