Does your significant other hate your Jeep?

I just ordered $3000 worth of Rockslide Engineering power steps and the skid plates that go with them this morning. An email this afternoon tells me they will show up on UPS tomorrow. That place doesn't mess around.

So, I just texted my wife and told her I ordered something big for her Jeep this morning, and to expect it tomorrow. She replied that she thinks I'm cute. What a gal, she's a keeper.

I drive the 392 on loud mode, she drives in on quiet mode. We're both happy.

Me too. I’m 6’3, so a jeep with a 3” lift on 37s is a comfortable ass-slide into the seat, but my wife is only 5’5”, so climbing into the jeep wasn‘t comfortable. The RSE steps fixed that for her, and I don‘t mind stepping over the step to get in and out.

My wife expects me to buy whatever I want, but the stuff we can share together is more fun. I’m lucky. I got one of those hot, low maintenance, sporty, swimsuit models who wears her ponytail out the back of her “Jeep Girl” ball cap. If she was a makeup-encased, Gucci-focused, pain in the ass who bitched about everything including my jeep, I wouldn‘t have enlisted her.

Our jeep is mine. My husband owns a boring hybrid but since he had back surgery to remove a tumor in his spine he hasn’t been able to drive so the kids drive his car.
When he asked what I wanted for a new car and I told him a Jeep his only comment was that it needed grab handles and side steps so he can get in and out of it. He jokes that we like to challenge him because between the Jeep and the boy child’s Tundra it’s interesting to get in and out of when you have balance issues and can’t feel most of your left leg.
He was fine with me getting a manual (or pretty much anything I wanted) because the past 18 months I’ve been shuttling him everywhere he needs to go.

My wife loves my Jeeps and that I have it as a hobby. We just got married earlier this month and she even put loving me and my Jeeps in vows! She never drives them but loves riding in them.

My lady loves it. Every time she is in it, she feels like we are going on an adventure even if it’s just down the road to the grocery. Honestly, I feel the same way.

GF and I have a general rule that we can do whatever we want with our own money.

But she does like the Jeep. It does let us set up camp in places we can't take our other vehicles.

Similar situation here with the height difference, I always seem to have a muddy stripe about calf height on my leg.

I wouldn't say hate, but he wants nothing to do with it. He said he would buy me anything I wanted and he certainly did, but it came along with him saying "as long as I don't have to drive it". He drives his Cadillac luxury sports sedan and doesn't want anything to do with SUVs or Jeeps. My daughter drives my old Yukon and doesnt' want anything to do with my Jeep either. She's more scared of it than anything. But she's only 16 and a new driver. So...."Oh darn" I get it all to myself.

She loves the jeep, but admits she’s afraid to drive it. But hers is a tiny Acura ILX sedan, and mine’s a JLUR on 35’s so there’s quite a difference there in size and ride height alone.

I think she likes riding shotgun, likes where we can get to in it. And most of all, I think she likes that I have a vehicle I’ve talked about wanting for years.

My wife started the hole Jeep thing
I started when I was about 12 years old with my first mini bike and proceeded to move up to larger and better dirt bike
33 years ago I gave up the bikes when we got married and moved on to other thing
In 2020 my wife was at a party with out me and a guy was to drunk to drive and ask if she could drive him home in his jeep Wrangler JL
The next day she told me what happened and my wife ask me if we could buy a Jeep
During my time as a mechanic I had worked on 100s of older jeeps and really was not interested in a vehicle that rides and dives like a brick with no power going down the road
I told her ok we will take a look
Went to our local dealer and to my surprise I like it. Rides nice drives nice and had decent power
We left that day with her brand new bright yellow Jeep Wrangler Willys
I proceeded to add many upgrades / Front and rear 44 lockers / 4 to 1 transfer case / 2.5 lift / 35in. tires and wheels / brakes / shocks and a LOT more
About 8 mouth ago we went to a jeep rally in Placerville Ca. and they had a rock trail and I told her that I was going go on it
She said NO you are not. You are not taking my jeep on the rocks
I proceeded to hit the rock trail and she was extremely pissed off so I told her from now on the Willys is mine and we will get you your own jeep
She now has her own 2018 Rubican JL and the Willys is mine and all is good
We have been on many trails with the Willys and she has only jumped out twice put she is used to it
