I am making sure to have some sort of steps not because of my kids, they are monkeys and can climb in. The problem is also not getting in. The problem I run into is getting out there is a sensitive portion of my undercarriage that gets crushed by the seats and a step out has always helped mitigate this.

My wife has bionic knees so I built steps that can be removed for offroading:

That is amazing you did that for your wife , that is awesome now if you could get the rights I don’t know how to say it correctly, you could have a winning product there that could help a lot of people out there in similar situations

I went with the LOD Destroyers for my JLUR, which is lifted just shy of 4" above stock height and on 40's. These sliders replace the factory rock rails, so they don't cost much ground clearance at all but provide a solid step for my wife to climb in and out. She's 4'10.75" and can walk under my side view mirror without hitting her head. I'm 5'11" and just step right in with an assist from the a-pillar grab handle.

You may want to check out the LOD Destroyers. They fit your criteria as far as providing a solid step without being a snag point, all while being a great bang for the buck. Plus, you're about 10" taller than my wife and your Jeep will be about 9" shorter than mine.

No problem at all! Another thing worth mentioning, is I added extra grab handles above the doors for another grabbing option for my little Mrs. She never uses them, and says the a-pillar grab handle is in the perfect spot for her.

The 1st couple times that she climbed in, it was awkward for her. She was stepping up with her left foot to get in the front passenger side, and having to shuffle about to slide in. I showed her how much easier it is to step up with her right foot, so her left can seamlessly swing in.

Here is another benefit of steps.

Yeah... I've had this happen to me before, where I'm pulling into a parking spot and some jerk-wad just flings their door open in front of me at the last second without looking. A real PITA, and nothing you can do to prevent it no matter how slow you are pulling into the spot. People need to pay attention and look before opening a door! I now have the 2-door version of these N-FAB nerf bars installed on my current Jeep, so I pity the poor fool that opens their door in front of me now! That thing'll take the whole door off! LOL :CWL:

And --- My wife is *barely* 5 feet tall, so I removed the rubi-style rock rails that came with the vehicle and put the nerf bars on as soon as we got it. I actually prefer the look of the rugged looking nerf bars, but I do keep the rock rails in the garage for off-road days! I highly recommend! :like:

^ This EXACTLY in my case. Wife didn't even want grab handles; just likes the a-piller grab handle. And same thing about the footing. All good now! LOL

It's sexy to watch a small gal hop out of a lifted vehicle, work would stop at my old office when my wife pulled up in my truck.?

There are combination step/rock slider accessories that work great.

I have a set of Westin triple tube step/rock sliders that bolt to the frame which really helps avoid any damage to your rockers & body pinch weld area. They do help those who are vertically challenged gain access to the cab without compromising clearance.
