Do I need a skid plate?

I want to purchase the steel bumper and now I just realized it needs a skid plate now?

Do I need a skid plate? Problem is I am installing Maximus tow loops and don’t want to fight cutting steel skid plate. And other items to flat tow.

It all depends. Are you wheeling heavily? Even so it depends on your current setup. Bigger tires, lift.

My plan is Tires first (done), then rocker guards of some sort. then rear bumper w/cxr then front bumper, then skid and I think that is it until I decide what lift I want.

BTW the skid can take a hit but I still think it's for shit.

The skid plate on the front protects the sway bar and steering stabilizer, sort of. It doesn't cover a lot.

Don’t get the OEM bumper if you don’t want to deal with that stuff. Rocknard and LOD bumpers will accommodate Tow points. No cutting involved. You can also get skid plates for them.
