What kind of question this is? It is totally about what you feel and why you asking other people?
If you think you need a support for your left foot then go ahead install one. How other people know how you feel? Strange.

I actually like to have my left foot up by my seat when I drive. And if I'm using cruise, both feet up by the seat. That's most comfortable for me.
You kids and your fancy high tech toys like cruise control. If it didn't come on my first car I don't use it now. My first one didn't have a radio, power steering, power brakes, cruise, wifi, air conditioning.

thanks for posting this, I picked up a nut today which made installing the pedal painless.
Great! Glad that worked well. Super simple for sure. I didn’t think having this pedal was a big deal but I like having.

I think it would have lots of personal options as already mentioned. My last car had a dead petal rest area. And I used it quite a bit on long drives. Having just gotten my jeep recently, longest drive about two hours. While not uncomfortable, I could for sure have used it. Maybe something to do with your build as well. I’m 6.2.

I see a lot of people posting about installing a "Dead Pedal". Does it add that much comfort? I'm driving an automatic, if that matters. I'm about to take a drive from New York to Florida.

Thanks.
It helped me and was more comfortable, but it kept loosening all the time. Couple times it got stuck under the brake pedal! I had to tighten it every couple weeks. And it wasn't too easy in the spot the crew was. I still liked it better than resting on the floor. Its a personal foot preference.

I wonder if it's an ankle mobility issue? Putting my foot flat on the floor isn't an issue for me and the foot well is already tight on the JL especially if I have work boots on so I've never saw the need nor had the desire to give up the space. On a long roadtrip it's nice to be able to straighten out my leg sometimes. My feet are all over the place on long trips. I typically only use left foot braking when crawling.

I installed one in mine. First thing I did. I've owned a LOT of vehicles, both manual and automatics. And drove tractor trailers.

I've never had a vehicle without a "dead" pedal so noticed its absence immediately.

I guess it's partly what you're used to. Comfort is subjective of course.

There is an actual couple of benefits from them. One being to be able to brace yourself far better than flat footed can. The second being related to a specific driving technique that's difficult for me to explain clearly.
