Direct Injection carbon & other 2.0T issues

So I had a 335I with turbo and direct injection, 90,000 miles no issue, but i did religiously use injector cleaner, like one tank a month of mobile 1, and lucas cleaner combined. If I let it go more than a few months it would throw hidden codes of cylinder misfires but no CEL. In the BMW world the catch can was also a thing, but most never used one with out issue as long as you used cleaner.

if your PCV is throwing enough oil to coat your valves, you have other issues you should deal with to make that stop rather than putting in a catch can..
