Diffs - Replace Covers or add a plate

It does add some time to the process but for me I feel like protecting the yoke/flange of the driveshaft is worth it. I wedge a jack stand under the back end of the next venture skids and unbolt the rear bracket. Then unbolt the skid from the face of the diff cover. I hold the front of the skid with one hand as I remove the last bolt with the other. Then slide the skid toward you off the jack stand. Not too bad once you’ve done it a few times. My diff skids take frequent abuse.

How often do you need to clean off the red and blue from the shopping cart handles?

Good example of someone that doesn't need lockers. If you only run easier trails, then don't buy them.

I see lots of bone stock Rubi's that will never see a trail. Though I don't doubt they bought it for other things like leather seats and climate control and the salesman didn't mention that a Sahara would have those same things.

pfftttt Mine has all kinds of massive dents in it and as many scratches as dirt, the tail pipe Ive had to uncrimp more than once and it hasnt fallen off yet. Ill keep going until it does and replace it.

i went with heavier-duty covers (Dana Nodulars) to deal with the torque of a diesel on 37s with 4.56s deforming the dif and causing misalignment of the Pinion and Ring.
i don't typically bash things, and have no qualms about dragging them gently over stuff on the trail.

Exactly, the number one purpose of the heavier diff covers is to support the diff center section to prevent housing flex and gear deflection. A diff skid simply can’t do that.

I think I have done a decent job keeping my muffler damage free. It is on my list to add but its at the very bottom.
