This here is what gets me = has Anyone’s dash ‘gauge’ ever gone above 1/2-way?
Nope... once running temp is established, it never changes...

Mine has gone more than half and the coolant was at 140. No warning from gauges. This was during a grade at 113 outside

Last weekend I was pulling a small trailer (less than 1500lbs) through central Texas in upper 90 F outside temps. My coolant temps reached as high as 224 F on slow rolling hills and would immediately come down to 212-217 F on flat highway. I was trying to maintain 65 MPH and the speed limit was 75 MPH. My temps in town without a trailer in normal driving conditions have been around 204 F. This engine does run hotter than my other Cummins equipped RAM truck and am worried that towing with it at those temps will cause damage to the engine. Like others have stated, the engine produces plenty of power and in fact power to spare... the weak link is the engine cooling. Would really ease my mind to know what the Jeep engineers consider safe and normal operating temps for different driving conditions. I purchased this diesel equipped Jeep specifically for its towing capabilities and am wondering if I made a bad decision.

Thanks for the input Texgoat, I’ll keep that in mind next time I tow with it and see what happens.

1) Nobody has had an over-temp warning come on.
2) Nobody has read the manual to know what the max temp is.

Sounds like a reason for a recall to me!

Between this and the endless DPF worries I have to wonder why you all bought vehicles that have you so concerned?

Pretty sure this will void warranty putting gas in the diesel tank
