Adding an amp and sub in the back of the JL. Want a security cargo system, but wanted to see if anyone else has added a sub with either of these boxes. Worried about metal rattling with the sub.

Anyone notice this?

Well I just recently installed the Diabolical slipstream, I’m not installing a sub or an amp but I do have the factory sub back there and there are zero rattles. It’s pretty solid. The only thing I can think of that might rattle are the pins. This is a very easy fix with some heat shrink around the pin itself. I did this to a few of my pins and now they are extremely tight and don’t slide back and forth. i can’t speak for the Tuffy but the slipstream looks great and is very functional. I love it.

I think most will tell you that there is little to know rattle under normal use. Even with a Sub. If you plan to install an aftermarket sub, you'll have about 15.75" in height. You can go to 16" but it will physically touch the bottom of the folding top. There are some aftermarket subs out there like the JL Audio Stealthbox that rise up above that height.

The Slipstream is installed with a foam backer tape on almost all metal to metal surfaces to eliminate rattle. But if you are going to crank it up to 150dB, well, something's gotta give. =)
