Hi all,

Recently got a custom decal from @pixeldecals and it's badass, really pumped to apply it

On their site it says to Windex or EtOH to remove any wax underneath the decal. I got my JL maybe 2 weeks ago, should I wait to do this? I'm afraid of damaging the paint or clearcoat

There should be no problem. Just make sure you clean it thoroughly and remove any dirt. Dilute the alcohol or use Windex.

No, no problem using an alcohol wipe or Windex. Don't apply decal unless sheet metal is warm as in not on a East Coast, Winter's day.

Also, after applying wax (non-abrasive wax) area where you used alcohol wipe/Windex.

For you and other's, pixeldecals will very soon have the black-out cover decals to place over the Jl/JLU visor warning labels. pixeldecals is working on decal sizing at this time. Should be available to all in a few weeks.

I agree with everything said already. Windex and alcohol aren't going to damage your clear coat. You just want a surface free of wax and oils for best longevity of the vinyl.

In light of the easy removal technique found, the member I sent a set to must have decided never to get back to me.
