Got to say am so excited my jeep is in its final stages of being built. I can’t understand why jeep would put there rubicon decals on the hood black with red trim on a red Jeep. You don’t see the red trim on the letters which makes no sense. Why wouldn’t you put a different contrast in colour on there like gold yellow something different?

Cost for one. As silly as it sounds, it costs Stellantis money to have multiple sets of decals. Second, it keeps things simpler on the vehicle assembly line. A line worker doesn't have to stop and look for a different decal part to apply. They simply grab one from the standard supply and affix.

On a modern assembly line, an assembly station is kitted for the work to be done there. So, there's no looking for anything.

But the point about keeping it to one part number is on point.

I feel like they use specific colors so that the service department will know what model you have, because they’re usually idiots. The first time I brought my JTOD in for an oil change they thought I had the world’s first 4xE gladiator because of my powder coated tow hooks. ?
