I have a 2021 JLUR with 43k miles on it. Never had death wobble until now. Any ideas, suggestions?

2” Mopar lift with fox shocks
Metal cloak baller joints
Clayton adjustable control arms all 8
Caster is set to 6.4 (I think)
Steersmarts yeti adjustable trackbar
Clayton 2.5 ton steering
Icon sway bar links
37x13.50r20 mud grapplers
Fox ats steering stabilizer

I just drove it over 2k miles from Texas to Oregon in September with no problems

I was told the bushings in the trackbar were worn before the trip. Not sure if this can cause it.

maybe the tires psi too high?

Worn bushings in your trackbar can absolutely cause it. Basically, any worn steering component can, but I've seen trackbar issues be one of the leading causes.

I was thinking that. I also have a garbage Rough Country Adjustable track bar on the rear that’s probably worn out as well. Not sure if that would contribute to anything.

Rear won't cause DW, but you will get some clunking going around corners where the weight transfers.

good to know. Thank you. I just messaged a buddy to see if he has time to help me take the bar off and press the new ones in. I don’t have a press.

Double-check the control arms where they connect to the axle and frame, as well as the track bar, drag link, and tie rod. Have someone gently shake the steering wheel back and forth while you inspect for any loose bolts.

This is probably the #1 reason for DW
I think the shop said the axle side bushing was a little worn, as they felt some play in it. Not positive of the side though. I found out the hard way that I should have ordered the pro version of the yeti bar,
Since I’m running 37s. I ordered the pro bushings a while back and haven’t had time to get them pressed in. Now I can’t even take the bar off myself because I had to have surgery last month. I’m just going to see how much a local guy will charge to take it off for me and put the new ones in. Better than crashing my jeep.

I really want to climb down there and do this myself right now. I can’t right now though. I may just stop by our local tire store and have them do the shakedown. I think Les schwab will do it for free.

Don't you have your OEM track bar? Just put it on. With the Mopar lift, your axle will only shift about ~3/8th of an inch. This way you can isolate the issue while you work on servicing the Steer Smarts track bar.

The JL factory trackbar is not bad - it's simply not adjustable.

Another thought - you can crank up the dampening on the FOX ATS to minimize it till you change the track bar.

I was considering turning the ats up a little. Can’t get the bushings in until April 11th now. I don’t have the old track bar anymore. I gave it away in Texas before we moved.

Glad you found the issue. Now time for you to give back...

I have the same SteerSmarts track bar, but have not yet installed the Fox ATS. Did you have any problems with clearance between the Fox ATX and the SteerSmarts trackbar? It looks awfully tight in there with that massive trackbar and it's clamps.

It is definitely tight in there. I was able to get everything to work great with the right components. The synergy trackbar/stabilizer mount helped a lot. Unfortunately, as you see here, the little bolt that came with it eventually backed out. I do not recall using threadlock on that originally. I am in the process of trying to get a new bolt and the pieces that fell out of the stabilizer. Northridge is helping me with this tomorrow. Keep in mind, I have the 2.5 ton Clayton Tie rod, which limited me to using an Apex mount for the other side of the ATS. I also only have the 2" Mopar lift. I believe it would have a little more clearance with some more lift in there. I do plan on replacing my coils with some MC dual rates in the near future. Going back and forth on 2.5 or 3.5. I will probably stay with the 2.5, which will still bring her back up quite a bit from the sagging mopar coils. I guess it really depends on what lift and other steering components you will have. I will try and find the picture I found on here that showed another member with a similar setup. I believe it was all synergy. Nothing on mine was hitting/rubbing.
