and where in my suggestion did I say it would fix death wobble or a brake shudder? I guess you have verified his concern of a death wobble or a brake shudder over the internet?
Again, the steering stabilizer wasn't put on to stop, cure, or mitigate death wobble. Bringing it up in a conversation about death wobble doesn't help anyone.

Because replacing a worn out steering stabilizer is never part of a repair for death wobble? right?
It quite often is because people keep perpetuating that it does anything to help death wobble. And every time it is replaced to "fix" death wobble its wasted money towards the actual problem.

A worn out stabilizer simply stops stabilizing. There are SFA vehicles out there that don't even come with them. They are not a requirement and if you take it off, if your components are in good shape, it will not have an issue.

When it is worn out(likely because of the actual cause of the death wobble) it simply stops absorbing bumps ... therefore failing to cover up that there is a problem with your steering/front suspension. Most likely due to worn out ball joints or bushings.

True and and it could be simply worn out due to time and mileage. his jeep is a 2020 with who knows how many miles. It certainly would not hurt for him to check it. I understand that there are many things that could cause or be part of the cause of death wobble such as: tire condition, tire pressure worn steering components such s ball joints etc. At the end of the day it would not hurt him to be as informed as possible when bringing it into a shop.

Not saying it isn't worn out. If it is a factory one it was never great to start with. Only saying that it would not be the cause.

If you were just saying check it while you are fixing the death wobble as it could also be worn out, then yes, you are correct, they should check it. So many times we get a "steering stabilizer causes death wobble" that we may have just assumed that is what you meant. I apologize if that is the case. I feel very strongly about people not cheeping out/coving up steering, suspension, and braking issues.

I was reading about the death wobble a week ago and couple of days ago coming back at night I hit a bump doing 50-60mph. The jeep lurched up and as soon as it hit the ground it shook like its no ones business. Immediately knew its the death wobble!!
Slowed down and took a deep breath. Went for wheel balancing and alignment the very next day.

How can you tell your stabilizer is wore out? Steering get easier, harder, or what things tell you that at 40,000 you needed a new one?

You really can't without taking it off. Then you'd check it like a normal shock. Compress it and if it stays there its toast.
If you have it replaced, please please please have them actually check the rest of the steering system too. The factory ball joints are a shit design and wear out way faster than they should. I've seen it as low as 8k miles. My death wobble at 58k miles was ball joints and the frame side track bar bolt hole being ovaled out.

Lesson learned. :whew:
But yea like Gek said its a very common sentiment around here that stabilizers are the leading cause of death wobble.

could cause steering to feel looser and notice road bumps more through the steering wheel. It is basically a shock for your steering, so similar to how when shocks go out on your suspension. If your steering and suspension components are in great shape though, you might not really notice. My wife has almost 90k on hers and still has the stock one on ... it was probably toast a while ago ... I should check it.

I had the front right axle replaced under warranty by the dealership, afterwards I noticed I get some serious wobbling.

I took it back to them about the 4xe fire issue, and mentioned the violent wobbling after the axle was replaced, from the odometer reading they took it somewhere for a 6 mile test drive, they say they didn't experience anything.

Should they have done an alignment after replacing the axle? I don't think they did.
