I have a 16Hr trip coming up and was thinking of installing a dead petal in my 2024 Sahara. Any suggestions?

I have the M.O.R.E Dead Pedal. What I like most about it is that it doesn't go all the way to the floor. You have the option of placing the ball of your foot on the dead pedal (you won't even notice that it doesn't go to the floor) or you can put your foot under it flat on the floor. Being able to change foot positions really helps with fatigue.

Be careful of any that secure using the single bolt on the interior of the engine/fire wall. Being the only securing point, it could loosen on its own over time and slide behind the brake pedal.

The 2024 Jeeps also do not have the same side braces that previous years do, so make sure it’s compatible. This is probably why the cheap pedals are using the one bolt, avoiding any new engineering.

I ended up using a bent piece of metal and securing it to the side of the dead pedal and hooking it around a side brace. Prevents it from moving towards the brake until I can manage the Yoga poses to get something more substantial set up.

Quadratec is nice as well as metalcloak. I’ve driven jeeps with both and both were way better than the cheapo Amazon versions.

I have the metalcloak version and it’s been perfect!

I have the 813 Fabrication & Design. I love their craftsmanship and Jeremy was very responsive when I had questions.

I designed an all aluminum dead pedal with a little extra. It can hold an "old school" floor dimmer switch. I use the switch to control my Baja Designs LP6s. It makes the ultimate backroad driving braight lights. No fumbling for a switch or taking your eyes off the road. I also have th eoption of a momentary switch for those who need a quick on/off switch for items such as horns or cameras.

It does use the single bolt mounting point on the firewall like many others but I also have a 1" bump stop that bolts in behind it for stablilty. I have the pedal mounted in a few Jeeps here at the shop and have not had any issues. As with most any aftermarket parts, it is good to occasionally check your bolts for tightness. The nut is a locking nut and you could also add loctite for extra security if you feel it may loosen.

When I was looking, I wanted a dead pedal that didn't take up a lot of real estate. I went with the MetalCloak. Allows for removal of the catch all mats without dropping a thing on the carpet, and isn't taking up too much space in an already tight environment.

I had the M.O.R.E dead pedal and it was replaced with the MetalCloak dead pedal. The MC dead pedal is perfect! Super comfortable, solid, amd more adjustment options. Also way easier to install. Didn't like the partial pedal of the more. The whole foot rests on the MC.
