So, not my first time removing decals, but this time I took notes and compared 3 products.
Blow dryer to remove the decals; my heat gun gets too hot. This job was on a 2026 Rubi on the road for 6 months.

Goo gone useless
3m remover is average
99% Isopropyl is less than average
Goof Off works the best, but it's probably the harshest on the paint.
Let the product sit on the residue for 3 to 5 minutes.
Rub off with Microfiber
Don't use plastic scrapers or metal blades, obviously.

After removal, clean with isopropyl and water.

Then bring the luster back with a finishing glaze and microfiber. If you scratched it, use a swirl remover with microfiber.
Then seal it with some wax.

Using a heat gun from the inside of the hood separates the glue from the hood instead of from the decal when used from the outside. Leaves virtually no residue afterwards.

Park it in the sun on a 90 degree day for a few hours and they will peel right off. If there is any residue left you can wipe it off with hand sanitizer.
Interesting. It will hit a hundred in a month or so here - it should be easy then.

I bought solid matte black Rubicon decals to replace my black w/red factory Rubicon decals. I also got all black replacements for the Jeep badges and the trail rated badge. I also plan to rattle can paint the the hooks.

Thats exactly what I did, I live in Phoenix. I just parked outside for an hour and peeled them right off. took a little polish (although I didnt have to) and cleaned it all up.

For removing residue I skip the goo gone and other chemicals these days and use a 3m eraser wheel. It’s amazing and safe on the paint.

I didn't have much difficulty with the hood decals, it was the badges in front of the two doors that were a nightmare. The only thing that worked for me was Gtechniq W7 Tar and Glue Remover.

For stubborn badges, it’s hard to beat braided fishing line. I prefer 20# IzorLine myself, but anyways - Yeah 🤣

Just bake it in the sun and floss behind it with the fishing line. A rubber wheel or some mild adhesive remover should take care of the residue.
